Arknights Operator Planner
I built this comprehensive planning tool for the GamePress Arknights site to help players calculate the resources needed to upgrade one or multiple operators. Users could:
- Track required materials for leveling, skill upgrades, and promotions
- Subtract their owned inventory (manually or via CSV import)
- View farming locations for each material, including most efficient spots
- Break materials into components, and get a smart breakdown of what to craft vs farm
- Generate a custom farming plan showing which missions to run, and how often
- Save or share planner states via account login or shareable URLs
This was one of the most complex tools I built for the old site. Being an active player of the game myself at the time, I had a lot of fun making it, and even used it on occasion. The tool sustained 200K+ pageviews per month consistently, and was a mainstay on the site's trending pages list. We also had comments enabled, so it was really nice to see all of the positive feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions from the community. In fact, many of the features listed above were implemented after the team read a comment suggesting the feature for the tool.
The tool in its last updated state can be viewed on the web archive. And here's a shareable url with some operators filled in already. If you browse the archive site, you'll also see a lot of my Drupal templating and styling work. There are several other tools that I made as well, but due to the implementation of those tools, they don't work on the web archive.
